TURN A STATIC BUILDING INTO A LIVING, BREATHING STRUCTURE

To realise and achieve maximum energy saving benefit it is important that solar shading solutions are motorised and linked to relevant sensors to automatically position them dependent on the ever changing external climatic conditions.

During the daytime in the summer exterior shading would usually be extended preventing solar gain, keeping interior temperatures at a cool, comfortable level. At night time, they would typically be retracted allowing a building to flush out of any internal heat build up during the day.

In the winter, you would expect to see the opposite. During the day, exterior shading would be retracted, allowing a building to warm naturally. In the evening, if shading is exterior screens, they would be lowered, providing an extra layer of insulation, helping keep the building warm for the following day.
